In addition to the 35mm f/2 eight-element M-mount lens, the Chinese brand Light Lens Lab (LLL) will soon release a new ELCAN 50mm f/2 replica lens for Leica M-mount. If you are interested in purchasing any LLL lens, you can contact me here – I can start a pre-order list (they do not have a website or a way of purchasing the lens online). Here are the details of the new Elcan:
- For Leica M-mount, M39-mount version will also be available for an extra charge and it will include an adapter (you will need an M-mount adapter to use the lens on M-mount cameras)
- Weight: 200-235g depending on finishes
- Dimensions: 36mm width, 51mm length
- Filter thread: 39mm (e39)
- Design: 4 elements in 4 groups, ultra-astigmat design just like the original ELCAN on the KE-7A
- Full brass body (except for the titanium version which is made from solid titanium)
- Available in chrome, black paint, black paint with brassing, safari, bare brass, and titanium finishes
- Scheduled to be released in late October/November
- Sample photos can be found here, here, here, and here
- The pricing will start from around $1,500 and will go over $2,000 for the titanium version
- Here is a picture with the M39 version/option that will also include the adapter:
