Hi Everyone!
So i ran into a problem which is wierd. I cannot activate the focus peaking to help nail the focus when a lens with no electronic contact is on the camera. Even if i press my focus peaking button to zoom into the picture to help me nail it. I tried in AFS mode and MF mode, no change in that and for vidéo, it is ind of not helping me.
Is there a way to force it EVEN if no lens is detected?

thank you all for the help!

Firstly, I would suggest ensuring that your firmware is up-to-date. Panasonic often fixes bugs and enhances functionality with each update.

If your firmware is already updated, I'd advise you to check your focus peaking settings. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the custom settings menu (represented by a wrench with a "C" next to it).
  2. Scroll down to 'Peaking'.
  3. Ensure that Peaking is set to 'On'.
Sometimes, the camera might have trouble detecting the lens. In these cases, it might be helpful to change the 'Shoot Without Lens' option:

  1. Go to the custom settings menu again.
  2. Scroll to 'Operation'.
  3. Under 'Others', find the 'Shoot Without Lens' option.
  4. Enable this option.
By doing this, you're essentially telling your Panasonic S1 that it's okay to shoot without a lens, which should also enable focus peaking.

Please note that when using a lens with no electronic contacts, the camera doesn't know what lens is mounted and may limit some functionality accordingly. But focus peaking is a function that should work regardless, and enabling the 'Shoot Without Lens' option may help resolve this issue.
